Questions 1–10 of 10

1. What is synchronisation about in the world of data?
Question 1A. Deleting data that is no longer neededB. Keeping data the same and up to date in many different spots or systemsC. Converting analogue records into digital formD. Encrypting data before it is sharedE. Compressing data to save storage
2. What is propagation about in the world of data?
Question 2A. Making sure updates in one part of a system travel to other connected partsB. Storing data in a single central location onlyC. Removing duplicate rows from a tableD. Sorting records alphabeticallyE. Restricting access to sensitive fields
3. Which example illustrates synchronisation?
Question 3A. A bank archiving statements older than seven yearsB. A school printing report cards once a termC. New items added to an online store's inventory on a computer appearing on the website and in the physical store's systemD. A company deleting the accounts of former employeesE. A utility generating bills at the end of a billing cycle
4. Which example illustrates propagation?
Question 4A. Scanning a paper document into a PDFB. Applying the same filter to a set of photosC. Converting country names into ISO codesD. A deposit at an ATM reaching the online bank account and the bank's main databaseE. Archiving inactive customer records
5. What is the goal of synchronisation when something changes in one place?
Question 5A. That the change is recorded only in an audit logB. That the change is reversed automaticallyC. That the change is hidden from other systemsD. That the change is queued for reviewE. That the change quickly shows up everywhere else, so everyone using the data gets the latest and correct information
6. To what is propagation compared?
Question 6A. The spreading of newsB. Filling a bucket with waterC. Doing homework at the end of the dayD. A library card catalogueE. A game with friends from different countries
7. How do synchronisation and propagation work together?
Question 7A. Synchronisation deletes old data while propagation archives itB. Synchronisation keeps everything in harmony by ensuring changes are seen everywhere, and propagation makes sure changes travel to all the places that need to knowC. Synchronisation encrypts data while propagation decrypts itD. Synchronisation applies only to banks and propagation only to shopsE. They are unrelated and never used together
8. Why are synchronisation and propagation compared to superheroes?
Question 8A. Because they run faster than any databaseB. Because they require no computing resourcesC. Because they keep information accurate and consistent even when it is spread across different placesD. Because they can recover deleted dataE. Because they eliminate the need for backups
9. Which of the following is NOT an outcome attributed to synchronisation and propagation?
Question 9A. Preventing mistakes in dataB. Ensuring everyone has the newest informationC. Ensuring everyone has the most trustworthy informationD. Reducing the physical size of the databaseE. Keeping data consistent across systems
10. In the online store example, which systems must reflect newly added inventory items for synchronisation to be achieved?
Question 10A. Only the owner's computerB. Only the supplier's warehouseC. Only the bank's main databaseD. Only a printed catalogueE. The website and the physical store's system, as well as the computer where the items were added
